London favourites:

London has a huge choice of great places. Here are just a few easy, choice spots for theatre-goers.

Woolsley cafe. A marble floored auto showroom that has been restored into a fist class restaurant. Great spot for lunch or a high tea. 160 Picadilly. Take a look: http://www.thewolseley.com/

Browns. This has a restaurant area, but the bar makes brilliant cocktails for one before the show. St Martin’s lane.

Joe Allen. A legendary restaurant after the Broadway establishment. This is where you go after the theatre. They also do great pre-theatre dinner deals. 13 Exeter Street. The burger isn’t on the menu, but that’s what you order. On my first visit I saw both Eileen Atkins and Elaine Stritch popping in. Young South Africans sometimes stop-gap waiter here. http://www.joeallen.co.uk/
